Originally from the United States, Kristy Marie Medina is a Hamburg-based dancer, choreographer and coach. Her formal training, which she acquired at various schools, as well as attending summer workshops and programmes, began in 2000 at the “Pre-Professional Dance Program“ of the Keshet Dance Company and at the Public Academy for Performing Arts. She will graduate from CDSH - Contemporary Dance School Hamburg, in 2019.
Kristy was soon accepted as a permanent member in Keshet's dance company, where she also gained professional experience as an assistant director. She frequently attended the winter intensive courses at the Juilliard Academy, and began her formal training at Perry-Mansfield Summer Dance and Theatre in 2012. After completing an apprenticeship with Jennifer Golonka and the Luminary Dance Project, Kristy appeared in a re-enactment of Nutcracker on the Rocks (originally by the Keshet Dance Company).
Shortly after, she decided to move to Germany. Kristy initially wanted to learn German in Germany, but she soon decided to make her way as a dancer. In addition to her training as a professional contemporary dancer, she is also involved in competitions, where she also performs. She teaches classes at the Sportverein Eidelstedt, and creates choreographies for the youth group Le Nouveau Courage where she gives the basic technique class. Kristy also offers individual coaching for choreographies and compositions, as well as for contemporary, modern and classical dance technique.
