hdc is a professional dance company, and is affiliated with the Contemporary Dance School Hamburg. It was founded in 2011 on the occasion of a tour through Mexico. With as many as ten permanent members, it is a means of presenting the work of our resident and guest choreographers on international stages and outside of the school context.
As a professional dance company, hdc contributes to keeping alive our considerable repertoire, and offers selected graduates a means of immediately starting their career as a professional dancer.
The concept of the company is based on the principles of the CDSH. The dancers work together with various choreographers and are accordingly familiar with a wide range of styles and working methods. Our dancers distinguish themselves with personal initiative and creativity as well as technical skills in contemporary and modern dance techniques.
Since July 1st we're in the final preparations for our Mexico tour, where we’re going to be in San Luis Potosì, Merida, Aguascalientes and Guadalajara.
In San Luis we’re holding a workshop and a choreography competition and will give EurAsia Dance project scholarships to the most talented participants for Contemporary Dance School Hamburg and for the Dance Haus Milano!
